Note to all Fired Up Folks: Again abuzz is down. Who knows how many posts are again lost. I am wanting to get some actual answers about the reasons that this keeps happening. I'd like to know if this if due to sabotage, failing equipment, lack of maintenance, the host service or whatever the reason! It really is not fair to the 'community members' who keep coming back to abuzz! When the site is up again, I will post a question about this right away and hope we can start getting some answers other than 'sorry'...
Thank goodness that we have ways to interact, not dependent on abuzz, right? Have a good weekend y'all!

Note: Since a certain edentata is growing a beard, and it is coming in nicely, I may just have to start refering to him as "The Gray Knight", lol. See the link above for reason...
This came from the thread squinney started, a second part to the first game of Hangman,
Another Hangman, Anyone? http://nytimes.abuzz.com/interaction/s.294201/discussion/
Oh yes, it is still "Strip Hangman". And anyone wanting testosterone humor can check out the revived "Length" thread there.
I myself, retain all dignity with another new question there in abuzz

I couldn't let this one go by without adding kudos to my old friend Aa, who first turned a lot of us Abuzzards on to the Cybereditions site over a year ago in the following question: http://nytimes.abuzz.com/interaction/s.38531/discussion/Still my all-time favorite Abuzz question and certainly the most valuable

Reference links from Walter, posted in abuzz yesterday. In italics are my comments about three of them, posted back into that same abuzz thread.
Hi all,
although a little late, here are my favourites (concerning this subject only -:) )
http://www.refdesk.com/ Ref Desk
http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/stasa/reference_tables.html Wiley InterScience Reference Tables
(Walter - thanks for the links! I liked the one for the Reference Tables especially. What a great resource for information in a
useful format - Wiley InterScience.)
http://library.marist.edu/diglib/english/writerresources.html Writer's Tools and Resources(The Writer's Tools and Resources link is a good one for serious writers and readers, both.)
All are 'mega links', so it's really easy to store them. More for fun (or historical interest):
http://www.1911encyclopedia.org/ 1911 Encyclopedia(I've just looked in the 1911 encyclopedia. What a concept. One of the last times of 'modern times' that countries had global
connections, yet no global war... Looking up a random page, I clicked on 'T' and got to 'tracery' where I learned quite a bit about stained glass today with many examples of famous cathedrals. One just would not ordinarily find such information readily available online or in print, of course!)
