http://moihehe@hotmail.com

BTW, this is a ditto of what I just did for the yahoo account: this one here "should" be for my hotmail account that readers of abuzz see when they look at my profile there...

Pardonnez moi: I am playing around with finding html in existing websites I have by viewing Source and then copy/paste here to see what happens. This html for this post produced a link that will get me/you into the main yahoo page, but doesn't link up for an "email me" type of link where a reader or Team Member of this blog can use it to quickly mail to me. At least it DOES give a nice link to the main page of yahoo, anyhoo....

This would be a link to a game from a British online mag called urban75 http://www.urban75.org The online mag is great fun! Go looking thru the photo section to find a rockumentory photo journel of a disgruntled and failed photog, ha! Really a good Battleships game like in our "youth", and different from the usual ones I find online in the US domains... "Play Battleships With Mr. Insult!" "Can you outwit Mr Insult - and take the abuse if you lose? Try your hand at this specially adapted game of Battleships by trying to blow up Mr Insult's fleet of foul mouthed ships by clicking on the squares on the left. Warning: Mr Insult only talks one language: foul language. "

ZD Net UK News 'Stupid' linking policies come under fire15:33 Wednesday 21st August 2002 Paul Festa, CNET News.com "Web sites with policies outlawing other sites from linking to pages other than the home page are the targets of the 'Don't Link to Us' campaign Want David Sorkin to link to your Web site? Just ask him not to. Sorkin, associate professor of law at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Ill., is the man behind Don't Link to Us, a Web site that exists merely to flout what it terms "stupid linking policies."

Grrrrrr - gross media manipulation of the "news". Of course, we are told "what news is", which reminds me of what ISN'T considered "news". And then, there is the question, cynical but ever-present: "Why is this being reported, Who wanted it reported, and What is the hidden agenda beyond the 'face-of-it'....." From the blog, Q Daily News today, a comment posted by a reader there: It seems to me that we're in for at least a month of "shocking" pieces by CNN about various and sundry things seen on the recently-discovered al Qaeda tapes. Why do I think that? Because almost all the stories state that there are 64 of the tapes, and so far, CNN is revealing about a tape or two a day to us. On Monday, we had the tape showing dogs dying by poison gas; on Tuesday, we learned about Osama bin Laden's declaration of war on the west. Yesterday was the day of urban terrorism training, and today's revelation is the instructional tape on the assembly of explosives (released late yesterday on their "War on Terrorism" pages, but now carrying the lead on the website). The sad thing about this is how up-front CNN is being about drawing out the news of the tapes. In the right-hand sidebar of most of their al Qaeda-related pages, there's a box detailing the schedule for future stories about the tapes, and they even have a "Caught on Tape" gallery that breaks down the news by the day that it was released. The entirety of the coverage feels manipulative, and well-timed to coincide with the time when waning interest in the news coming out of the Middle East is crossing paths with the rising interest in the anniversary of the events of last September.

This is pretty unbelievable! - Until you remember that it did take place in Texas.... From the Houston Chronicle: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/metropolitan/1542463 Policing the police after Kmart raid By THOM MARSHALL Copyright 2002 Houston Chronicle Attention, Kmart shoppers. You are under arrest. Houston cops planned for weeks to swoop down on a parking lot and nab a bunch of drag racers but couldn't find any when they got there. So, what the heck, they just rounded up everyone in the parking lot outside a 24-hour Kmart and a Sonic Drive-In and charged the whole bunch with trespassing. No joke.

i love the pix i saw BJ, but i couldn't for the life of me figure the site out. will have to try when i'm more awake. thanks for the reminder WilliamH.

This is it - the one time only posting of the link for the photo album for blog readers of this site: http://www.picturetrail.com If you don't use this link below, then bookmark the site above and search for it under my complete abuzz nickname. The album is called Fired Up Folks, the Blog Album Use the password which is the same one given for those who are "team members" of this blog. If you don't know it, you will most likely come up with it with very little thought, tee hee!

I am in process of creating a free online photo album solely for Fired Up Folks that allow me to post their photos, be it of themselves, their family, an event, artwork, pets, etc. When I have it set up, I will post the link one time in this blog, so it is NOT a permanent link. When anyone wants to see those photos, they will have to use that link and password only. This is to prevent lurkers or others who should not have access. ONLY PHOTOS THAT ARE EMAILED TO ME BY MEMBERS or PHOTOS I HAVE ASKED FOR PERMISSION TO POST will be included. Any questions? Please write me at my email address! * * * * * * cobalt * * * * * * ps. seattlefriend, I'd love to post a Tao photo soon! mmediane is late getting a Sam photo to us. At least I can start the album up with a few of my own current photos. Peace and Love - ok for me to post a Jack photo? How about any others you have shared in other venues with me? Let me hear back soon, Love, BJ

These links today from a friend of ours: Oh my oh my - look at what some of this "offical" government information is available in Europe. If this is available to the public, what remains as 'classified' information? Big Brother http://www.statewatch.org/news/2002/aug/05datafd1.htm statewatch.org document details on surveillance on communications http://www.statewatch.org/news/2002/aug/05datafd.htm "Confidential" Memo? Could members of this blog please comment on these links? HBS Working Knowledge: Knowledge & the Information Economy: 'Screen Language': The New Currency for Learning http://hbswk.hbs.edu/pubitem.jhtml?id=2930&sid=0&pid=0&t=knowledge John Seely Brown: Speech 5/13/200 to Harvard Business School Knowledge & the Information Economy: "Screen Language': The New Currency for Learning This worthy article is a great explanation of why new educators must learn html and the uses of the Internet! From: Jay Cross of Internet Time "I was a dinosaur," says Brown. According to Seely Brown, there is a new kind of digital divide now and it is the divide between faculty and students. Faculty, stuck in yesterday's analog world, are confronted with students who arrive nicely fluent in digital technology and the virtues of hyperspeed. Students already have a handle on how to convey their emotional states electronically. It's up to adults to learn that vernacular, he said. Educators who create programs for adult learning and distance learning need to apply the vernacular and deepen and strengthen these new means of communication. posted by jay cross on 12:17 PM | permalink"

CRUDE BUSH POLITICAL JOKE: WARNING WARNING WARNING! G.W. Bush and Colin Powell are sitting in a bar. A guy walks in and asks the barman "Isn't that Bush and Powell sitting over there?" The barman says "Yep, that's them." So the guy walks over and says "Wow, this is a real honor. What are you guys doing in here?" Bush says "We're planning WWIII." And the guy says "Really, What's going to happen?" Bush says "Well, we're going to kill 140 million Iraqis this time and one blonde with big breasts." The guy exclaimed "A blonde with big breasts? Why kill a blonde with big breasts?" Bush turns to Powell, punches him on the shoulder and says "See, I told you no one would worry about 140 million Iraqis. From theminister.net

This post brought to you from a young student in California: Daniel Curran's Blog Am I Just Paranoid? I live in an apartment complex with probably one of the best locals in Silicon Valley. Major Highways nearby as well as Pubs, Parks, a Hockey Stadium and a Girl Scout Center. My complex has a pleasant management staff and the rent is comparatively low. I have two cats and an iguana which the staff is well aware of and has no problem with. The other day I got a posting on my door that read something akin to "We have been told that we need to have photographs of all of your pets for our files. If you cannot take a picture we will be happy to!" The letter was written in a friendly format and at first I thought nothing of it. I figured that because there area a few stray cats in the area the management wanted to make sure they weren't calling the pound on a tenets pet. Or maybe they wanted to be able to return a pet to a tenant if it got out. Maybe they wanted to make sure that the 60 cat crazy lady wasn't living there. Picture of my pets - no problem. Wait a minute . . . "We have been told" - The management was told by the parent company? Why is the parent company mandating this? Hold on - why do they really need pictures of my pets? Then I had a quick flashback to an interview with an ACLU lawyer I had just heard recently. She stated that (sic) "This generation of students freely and unthinkingly gives up civil liberties (mandatory drug testing, locker searches, "May I check your bag" at store exits, etc) that encroach on their 4th amendment rights. We are raising a generation that is used to giving up their civil liberties." This got me to thinking. The management knows I have pets. My pets are not causing any problems. I legally have my pets. ASK me for a picture of my pets and tell me how you are going to use it - I MIGHT allow you to. It's my choice. TELL me I HAVE to give you photographs? Sorry Hitler - gotta deny ya that one. What next? Do you want pictures of my children in case they get abducted or are found wandering in the parking lot? How about coming through my apartment with a video camera to inventory my belongings in case I get robbed. Yes, this is "catastrophizing" and stretching - but really - If I am a peaceful law-abiding citizen, what business is it of yours? So I am am going to decline the mandate and recommend that my neighbors do the same. This is an invasion of my privacy. A minor one - but an invasion nonetheless. What do you think? Have you had a similar experience? Is there something I am missiing? [Comment on this Post] posted by Father Dan, 8:10 AM. Can I get an AMEN?! * * * * * * * cobalt * * * * * * *

Perhaps we can all use a light-hearted break each day: danceman/ This young man has a "Dance-A-Day" blog! I especially recommend the Hamster Dance episode if you have seen the Net site before. The Will Smith Dreams dance is to the new Men in Black movie theme: "Nod Ya Head". There is a fun one taken onsite at a county fair in front of the Elephant Ears snack stand, and one where our Danceman is dancing in his dorm room with stuffed animals. No, this is NOT x-rated! Just fun stuff! I wish I knew this guy! * * * * * * cobalt * * * * * **

If this works, then the community a reader comes from shows up in this blog! Each reader will be greeted with their own town's name. Hmmmmm, we shall see....

Brainwashing America by Norman D. Livergood Wow, this is a great political rant with re-worked World War Two posters... NOT for anyone who may easily be offended! Those with concerns about freedoms being taken away and pre-Nazi regimes-in-the-making will appreciate this site.

CBLDF = Comic Book Legal Defense Fund No, this is not a joke! The comic book artists, publishers and vendors have had to legally defend countless cases in court where someone in the community was offended in some way by the material, even if they did not see it themselves! An excerpt from the Los Angeles Comic Book site, by Michael Moore: It all started with my parents making me burn my comic books. In 1954 Reader's Digest printed an article by Dr. Frederick Wertham which claimed that reading comic books resulted in "juvenile delinquency." My parents saw the article and called me and my comic books into the living room for an inquisition. Consequently I was soon standing in the back yard beside our rusty 55 gallon trash barrel watching my collections of The Vault of Horror, Mad and Weird Science, and others, going up in smoke. This was a defining moment for me; as the ashes spiraled up into the sky I realized how wrong my parents could be and thus began my lifelong negative attitude towards authority. In 1971 I got even with my parents by founding the Los Angeles Comic Book Company. This has been an issue for at least 45 years now, that I know of. R.Crumb was one of the best of the 'underground' cartoonists of the Sixties, as was Ron Cobb and others you may recall if you see a familiar cartoon. Even Matt Groening ("The Simpsons") got into trouble for his famous "Life is Hell" strip still published in alternative weekly newspapers. Remember "Zippy the Pinhead"? Poof! Most of these strips are no longer published in common magazines and newspapers. The glory days of Frank Frazetta, Conan the Barbarian, Felix the Cat? The national newspaper syndication of cartoonist John Callahan? Poof! Where are they now and where are their successors? Many, way too many, are holed up in obscure locations of the hard copy publishing world or have gone to online work and animation only. It doesn't bode well that our nation's political cartoonists have been hamstrung by the newspaper editors and syndication fears. And it is just another way that Homeland Security and Big Brother will try to homogenize Amerika, that is, if the Religious Right isn't able to pound the life out of freedom of speech before Mr. Ridge, Mr. Ashcroft and others do it! Ok, my political rant for the day is over. Check out the link to the story of a Dallas comic book seller's conviction this week.

http://www.geocities.com/moihehe123/ Finally, a new homepage that is really just a home page, not a website or a blog. I joined a group in the D/FW area that has meetings and parties for fellow bloggers. First meeting is this Wednesday night! The group has many members in their Yahoo group - called D/FW Blogs. So, am looking forward to this. The meeting I have chosen to go to is for those wanting to exchange html, rss, xml, css, web design and blogging informtion. Other groups meet to connect quilters, to 'go' players, to social action groups, etc. Wow! What an interesting way to make new friends. There are groups like this all over the world, with most in the US. I believe there are about 523 such groups in the US right now, all meeting online. This is NOT a dating thing - just a connecting and networking bunch of folks ! I will report back on what I find. I did see that most members in this area all list a home page, website or blog in their profile, so this yahoo site (they bought the old geocities site) will fit the bill. I have an "email me" link there, going to my yahoo email address to preserve some anonymity. * * * * * * cobalt * * * * * *

nikon.net is a great site with Master Photography features and galleries. Galen and Barbara Rowell were famous adventure, science and travel photographers who recently were killed in a small plan crash in California. They had just returned from an assignment in the Bering Sea. Readers of this blog may recall some of the famous images published in the National Geographic, WWF, and Sierra Club sites and magazines. This link is to gallery 1 in the nikon.net site. Gallery 2 is reached through the same link. Their galley, Morning Light, is also a wonder to view.

If Mary Pope or any other abuzzers and Crones have this program, a valid .exe program would have to be sent around.
